About GV Health

GV Health is the main healthcare provider in the Goulburn Valley region, servicing a broad catchment area of approximately 120,000 people. We are the largest permanent employer in the region with over 2,600 employees spread across our five main sites.

To meet the evolving healthcare needs of our community we have completed Phase 1 of our redevelopment project which includes a five-storey Inpatient Unit building, expanded theatre capacity, new Critical Care Unit, a state of-the-art Dialysis Unit and an extension of the current Emergency Department.


Community Connector Program: We offer 1:1 relocation consultant support for new employees to assist with finding housing, childcare/education (if applicable), partner employment (if applicable), social groups & integration into our community to assist in the transition to Shepparton, regional Victoria.


About the department

GV Health Kitchen is a fast-paced environment that currently supplies approximately 600 meals per day onsite and to other GV health facilities.

About the role

The Trade Cook is responsible for providing a high standard of patient support services within the area of food services of GV Health. The Trade Cook will maintain a high standard of food safety and quality of food production in accordance with the Food Safety Program, Department of Health standards as well as provide other support services as directed. The Trade Cook is required to perform duties in accordance with approved duty routines, task procedures and frequencies and undertake any other duties within their capabilities as requested by the Head Chef or Corporate Support Services Manager or their delegates.


We are looking for:

Certificate III in Hospitality (Commercial Cookery)
Well-developed cooking skills and the ability to follow recipes
3 years’ experience post qualification, preferably in health setting or large volume hospitality venue
